More About Me

If you appreciate a Detailed Dynamo, then you’ve found the perfect Realtor match! When you work with Amye (and Bizz), you’ll never worry about even the smallest detail being missed. With a 20 year history in the mortgage industry, she’s a perfectionist when it comes to paperwork!

Experience and Expertise:

Amye Baker launched her career in real estate and her career with Treasure Realty in July 2014, making the transition after 20 years in the mortgage industry. She has always enjoyed helping people understand their purchase experience and sees her work now as a different side of the same coin.

Looking for something different, particularly as the mortgage industry continued to change, she decided to get her real estate license and passed the test the first time, definitely an admirable accomplishment. In part, Amye’s transition to real estate also came about at the urging of husband Bizz Baker who asked her to get your license and help me!

Amye says that in real estate, you get to see the end reward in a different way. She especially enjoys helping people that may be confused by the home buying process. Explaining that it can be a nerve-wracking experience, Amye says that “when I’m able to make that a less challenging experience and help them understand what to expect next – that’s where my passion is.”

Working with a mix of buyers and sellers, Amye is a “detail person,” a trait that arises out of her experience in the paper-heavy mortgage industry. She is also passionate about helping people find the right fit and then making it work for them. She says the “fire” that keeps her going is envisioning a buyer’s face when they walk into a home for the first time. She knows that “they have to have it and I want to get it for them.”

A Military Relocation Professional (MRP), Amye also works with other clients, including those looking for investment properties, a second home, or a primary home in the Topsail area. She knows Topsail well and helps buyers and sellers on the beach and the mainland. She has also been certified as a Resort & Second Home Specialist, adding to her expertise in selling vacation and investment properties.

Geographically, she covers Onslow County and Pender County and has extended out to Swansboro, Hubert, Richlands, Wilmington, and Carteret County. However, she says, “I’m a firm believer that as the local expert, you have a niche where you are. There’s some value in staying in your lane.” She cites extensive knowledge of certain topics related to life on the island such as beach renourishment.

Her knowledge of the mortgage industry gives Amye an advantage in helping buyers and sellers through that process. When questions arise regarding other issues such as obtaining appropriate insurance coverage or adhering to CAMA regulations, she says she is really good about knowing the sources. She adds that she is a firm believer in “taking you to the source, not being the source” in these specialty areas.

Love Where You Live:

Amye has lived in the Topsail area since 1992. A local expert, she says she loves living here for many reasons. She explains that “the coastal lifestyle is laid back. You’re close to everything, but you can take a deep breath.” Even though the world has been hectic, especially during the past few years, here “you can relax.”

Amye’s real estate expertise extends to her work with the North Carolina Regional MLS Board, where she served as one of two Topsail Board of Managers for over 7 years, rotating off at the end of 2023. She is currently serving as a Director for the Topsail Island Board of Realtors.

Amye and Bizz both understand that the relationship with their clients makes a difference. That’s also where the trust can be found. Their transaction history and “people history” speaks volumes as to what they can do and how well they can do it. Between her work and Bizz’s, they’ve sold over 382 million dollars’ worth of real estate.
